I was scrolling Instagram Reels, and I saw Costco’s Bouchard Dubai Chocolate recipe.

It is made of silky Belgian milk chocolate, creamy pistachio, tahini fillings, crunchy kataifi pastry layer, etc.

However, I made it at home, and it turned out delicious.

So, in this post, I will give you the Costco Bouchard Dubai Chocolate recipe.

It is much better than buying from the store. It is more customizable such as you can swap ingredients.

Besides this, I will share some pro tips so that you can achieve the same flavor and texture as the store-bought Costco version.

What Makes Bouchard Dubai Chocolate So Special?

    Costco Bouchard Dubai Chocolate Recipe

There are many things that make this Costco Bouchard Dubai chocolate recipe so special and one of the best Middle Eastern chocolate desserts.

For example, I really like silky Belgian milk chocolate shells, which are made using high-quality chocolate from top brands like Callebaut or Valrhona for a luxurious texture that can easily melt in your mouth.

I also like the creamy pistachio tahini filling, as it adds a nutty flavor to it. Besides this, it’s crunchy.

Besides this crunchy, Kataifi layer made with shredded phyllo dough is also excellent, which gives it baklava-like crispiness.

If I Compare Middle Eastern Treats

    • Ferrero Rocher: This recipe is more sophisticated because tahini is used, which gives richness.
    • As compared with Baklava, it’s easier to eat, because of chocolate’s creaminess.

Ingredients You’ll Need for Homemade Bouchard Chocolate

Ingredients You’ll Need for Homemade Bouchard Chocolate

Here is the step-by-step guide to making a Costco-inspired Bouchard Dubai chocolate recipe at home.

    For the Chocolate Shell

    • 200g Belgian milk chocolate: Consider using high-quality chocolate from any top brands like Callebaut or Valrhona for a smooth, glossy texture and a deep, rich cocoa flavor. If you use a cheaper one, the flavor and texture won’t be good.
    • 1 teaspoon of coconut oil: It’ll enhance the chocolate’s shine and snap.

    For the Pistachio-Tahini Filling

    • ½ cup ground pistachios: Make sure they’re unsalted, premium-grade pistachios for a naturally nutty and little sweet taste.
    • 2 tablespoons of tahini paste: You should select a well-stirred, silky-smooth tahini for a creamy, earthy depth to the filling.
    • 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar: it’ll add some sweetness, which is important for taste. Btw you can also adjust the quantity based on preference or even completely remove it; everything is completely up to you.
    • 1 tablespoon honey or date syrup – it’s good for binding agents and a natural sweetener. Btw, along with it, if you’re also using sugar, you’ll get complex sweetness. You’ll feel it if you pay attention while eating and try to feel.
    • 1 teaspoon of rose water (optional): I still suggest you try it, especially if you’re making this Costco Bouchard-inspired chocolate on special occasions. It’ll add a floral aroma, which is found in many Middle Eastern-inspired foods and desserts.
    • Pinch of salt: A small amount is enough to enhance natural flavors, plus it’ll balance the sweetness and nuttiness beautifully.

    For the Kataifi Crunch

    • ¼ cup kataifi pastry: This shredded phyllo dough will add an irresistible crisp texture, which will contrast with the creamy filling.
    • 1 tablespoon of melted butter: make sure the kataifi crisps up perfectly golden when toasted; it’ll add richness and depth.
    • 1 teaspoon of sugar: Lightly caramelizes the pastry for a sweet crunch to complement the chocolate and nutty filling.

    Step-by-Step Recipe for Bouchard-Inspired Chocolate

Here is the step-by-step guide to making a Costco Bouchard Dubai-style chocolate recipe at home.

Step 1. Prepare the Kataifi Crisp Layer

You will first need to preheat the oven to 350°F for four golden crisps.

    • Then you’ve to loosely separate the Kataifi shreds and make sure they don’t clump together for an airy texture.
    • After that, toss pastry with melted butter and sugar and coat properly,
    • After that, spread in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for up to 7-8 minutes and make sure they do not turn over brown.
    • Once golden and crispy, let it cool completely, then you can break it into small, flaky pieces.

Step 2. Make the Pistachio-Tahini Cream Filling

    • Pulse the pistachios in a food processor and bring them to a fine meal-like consistency. Btw, don’t overprocess into a paste.
    • In a bowl, mix the pistachios with tahini, powdered sugar, honey (or date syrup), rose water, and a pinch of salt until a smooth, thick, spreadable filling forms.
    • After that, you’ll fold in half of the kataifi crisp pieces to add texture and subtle crunch.
    • Then, Set aside the remaining kataifi to sprinkle on top at the time of final garnishing.

Step 3. Temper the Chocolate for a Perfect Shell

    • Melt ⅔ of the chocolate using a double boiler. You can also use the microwave in short bursts, but you’ll have to stir frequently, like every 15-20 seconds.
    • Once fully melted, remove from heat, stir in the remaining ⅓ chocolate, and allow it to cool and emulsify smoothly.
    • You can also add coconut oil and mix it well to enhance the glossiness and snap of the finished shell.

    Step 4. Assemble the Chocolates

    • Layer 1: Pour a thin layer of tempered chocolate into molds, tilting to coat the bottom properly. Then, Chill for at least 5 minutes.
    • Layer 2: Add a spoonful of pistachio-tahini filling, press it down, and sprinkle some of the reserved kataifi crunch for extra texture.
    • Layer 3: You’ll seal it with a final layer of tempered chocolate for a smooth top.
    • Now it’ll be ready, so you’ll have to refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until the chocolates are fully set and firm (you can adjust the timing)

Step 5. Final Touches for a Luxurious Look

Once your treat is properly set in the refrigerator, now follow this process of a perfect finish before serving.

    • Firstly, remove chocolates from the molds and make sure they retain their pristine shape.
    • Then, pour tops with crushed pistachios for a vibrant green contrast. That’s what is used in dubai style, but you can also try something else like coconut, almond, etc.
    • If you’re making it on a special occasion then you can give it an extra touch of opulence; you simply have to garnish with edible gold leaf.

    Ingredient Substitutes

If some ingredients aren’t available in the kitchen or you can’t find them at the store, here are the best ingredient substitutes to make your homemade Bouchard chocolate recipe just as delicious.

    • No kataifi? It’s okay, no problem! You can simply use crushed phyllo dough and it’ll give a similar flaky texture. Besides this, cornflakes are also a good choice for an easy and crunchy alternative.
    • No tahini? You can swap it with almond butter or cashew butter; they both work well! But keep in mind that it will change the flavor. Like tahini gives a signature nutty and a little savory taste, but these alternatives make your recipe a bit sweeter and milder.
    • Vegan?: you can simply use dairy-free chocolate and replace honey with maple syrup or agave. By doing so, you will still have rich sweetness without any animal products.

    Nutritional Value

This is an estimated nutrition value based on ingredients that I have mentioned to use. (Per piece, estimated.)

    • Calories: ~120-150 kcal
    • Fat: 8-10g (healthy fats from pistachios & tahini)
    • Carbs: 12-15g (mostly from chocolate & sugar)
    • Protein: 2-3g (thanks to nuts & tahini)
    • Sugar: Moderate (adjust with less powdered sugar if preferred).

Instead of using milk chocolate, you should use dark chocolate for a healthier Bouchard Dubai chocolate recipe—it has less sugar and more antioxidants, making it a better choice for health-conscious dessert lovers.

You can swap powdered sugar with coconut sugar for a sugar-free alternative.

Besides this, you can also replace butter in kataifi with olive oil.

If you replace these ingredients, your Costco Bouchard Dubai chocolate recipe will be healthier.

What to Serve With Bouchard-Inspired Chocolate

Here are some of my favorite pairing options with Costco Dubai Chocolate.

    Middle Eastern Dessert Pairings

    • Baklava: It’ll complement the kataifi crunch.
    • Date Maamoul: Good to balance the nutty sweetness.
    • Turkish Coffee: It will cut through the richness)

    Gourmet Beverage Matches

    • Cardamom-infused Hot Chocolate: A good choice to enhance the pistachio notes.
    • Rose Latte It will give a floral hint in the filling.
    • Earl Grey Tea: It contrasts the sweetness perfectly.

    Luxury Cheese & Fruit Platter

    • Labneh with Honey: Perfect for creamy contrast
    • Fresh Figs & Pomegranate Seeds: (adds freshness).
    • Aged Gouda: (salty-sweet combo).

    Final Thoughts

So, this was the homemade Bouchard Dubai Chocolate recipe, a delicious, healthier alternative to the store-bought version.

It allow you to enjoy authentic Middle Eastern chocolate flavors anytime.

Moreover, when you make it at home it’ll be cheaper. For me, it’s more than just a copycat version.

Besides this, you can customize it as you want—adjust the sweetness, try dark chocolate instead of milk, or even experiment with different nut fillings.

Plus, when you’re making it at home, it’s fresher, better quality, and has authentic taste without any unnecessary additives, which you get in store bought versions.

Btw! If you do end up trying your own twist on this recipe, let me know in the comments section! If it sounds interesting, I might give it a shot, too.

Can I use dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate?

Yes, instead of using Milk Chocolate, you can use Dark Chocolate for a more intense cocoa flavor.

But keep in mind that Costco’s signature version uses Milk Chocolate as it is more creamy and sweet, which is good for pistachio tahini fillings.

By the way, if you are using Dark Chocolate just for an experiment, then make sure it contains up to 55% cocoa.

Where can I buy kataifi pastry if I’m not in Dubai?

Kataifi Pastry is also known as Shredded phyllo dough, which is commonly used in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean desserts.

However, if you aren’t in Dubai, like you are in America, you can visit any Middle Eastern or Mediterranean grocery store.

If you can’t even find that, then you can check out any online retailers like Amazon, gourmet food websites, Middle Eastern specialty shops, etc.

Lastly, after trying everywhere, if you can’t find kataifi, then you should use Crushed Crispy phyllo Dough or Very Thin Vermicelli as an alternative.

Although they won’t be exactly the same, they will still be quite the same.

How long do these homemade chocolates last?

If you use an airtight container and store this homemade chocolate properly, then it will be safe to eat for up to 2 weeks.

Before eating, you just have to keep it at room temperature for a few minutes.

By the way, I personally don’t want you to keep it for a week in the fridge because, its texture and flavor get changed as the kataifi.
