Viral Dubai Kunafa Chocolate Bar (No Special Mold Needed)

The viral Dubai Kunafa Chocolate bar made at home using a regular baking dish. Crispy toasted kunafa and pistachio cream sealed inside a thick chocolate shell. Just 4 main ingredients and no special mold needed.

Instructions
 

Step 1: Toast the Kunafa

  • Chop or tear kunafa into pieces.
  • Melt butter in a pan over medium heat, add kunafa, and stir constantly for 8 to 10 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • Cool for 5 to 10 minutes.

Step 2: Make the Filling

  • Mix cooled kunafa with pistachio cream, tahini (if using), and salt until well combined.

Step 3: Prepare Your Dish

  • Line a baking dish or loaf pan with parchment paper with an overhang on the sides.

Step 4: First Chocolate Layer

  • Melt chocolate in 30-second microwave intervals, stirring after each.
  • Pour half into the dish, spread evenly, and refrigerate for 5 to 10 minutes until set.

Step 5: Add Filling

  • Spoon pistachio-kunafa filling over the set chocolate layer and press into an even layer.

Step 6: Top Chocolate Layer

  • Pour remaining chocolate over the filling, spread to the edges, and immediately sprinkle crushed pistachios.
  • Add other garnishes if using.

Step 7: Chill and Serve

  • Refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours until fully set.
  • Lift out using the parchment overhang, then slice or break into pieces.
  • Serve cold.

Notes

Use a chocolate bar, not chips. Chips have additives that prevent proper setting and won't give you a clean snap.
Cool the toasted kunafa fully before mixing with pistachio cream.
Keeps in the fridge for 4 to 5 days in an airtight container.
