Ingredients

  • cups full-fat coconut milk can or carton
  • ¾ tsp ground turmeric or use fresh grated
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • A pinch of ground ginger or small knob of fresh grated
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract optional
  • 1–2 tsp sweetener of choice honey, maple syrup, coconut sugar, or dates if blending
  • ½ tsp coconut oil or ghee optional
  • A pinch of cardamom optional
  • 1 scoop collagen or maca powder optional

Instructions

Step 1: Warm the coconut milk

  • In a small saucepan
  • Warm 1½ cups coconut milk over low-medium heat (do not boil).

Step 2: Add the spices

  • Add ¾ tsp turmeric
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • A pinch of black pepper, and ginger.
  • Whisk slowly and let it warm for 3–4 minutes.

Step 3: Sweeten and flavor

  • Once fragrant, add your sweetener of choice and ½ tsp vanilla (if using).
  • Stir well to combine.

Step 4: Boost with healthy fats

  • Add ghee or coconut oil now, if using. This helps the body absorb turmeric more efficiently.
  • Step 5: Strain if needed
  • Strain the drink if you used fresh grated turmeric or ginger.

Step 6: Serve and enjoy

  • Pour into your favorite mug and optionally top with a sprinkle of cinnamon or swirl of honey.

Optional cold version

  • Let the drink cool and pour over ice for a creamy iced version.
  • Add toppings like pistachios or chopped dark chocolate for flair.

Notes

Don’t skip the black pepper — even a tiny pinch boosts turmeric’s absorption by up to 2000%. And for the cold version? Always blend with a date for smoothness and sweetness — it turns into a creamy golden frappe without caffeine.
