Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons matcha powder ceremonial or culinary grade, sifted
  • 2–3 tablespoons hot water not boiling, ~175°F / 80°C
  • 1–2 tablespoons sugar or simple syrup, honey, agave
  • 1 cup milk whole milk, oat milk, or preferred
  • Ice cubes for iced version
  • Optional: whipped cream for topping
  • Optional: caramel or white chocolate drizzle
  • Pro Tip: For a richer café-style drink use ½ cup milk + ½ cup heavy cream.

Instructions

Step 1: Sift and Mix Matcha

  • Sift 2 tsp matcha into a small bowl.
  • Add 2–3 tbsp hot water and whisk until smooth and lump-free.

Step 2: Sweeten It

  • Add sugar or sweetener of choice. Whisk until dissolved.

Step 3: Add Milk

  • Hot Latte: Warm 1 cup milk, pour into the sweetened matcha, and whisk.
  • Iced Latte: Fill a glass with ice, add 1 cup cold milk, then pour the matcha mixture over for a layered look.

Step 4: Toppings

  • Top with whipped cream and drizzle for that Taco Bell style.

Notes

Always sift matcha to avoid clumps.
Don’t use boiling water—too hot makes matcha bitter.
