Simple Custard Pudding Recipe with Custard Powder without Egg
This creamy, glossy custard pudding recipe is made with custard powder, milk, and sugar. So need of eggs, no baking, and ready in minutes. It is perfect for beginners, fully customizable, and totally delicious.
Ingredients
- 2 cups full-fat milk
- 3 tablespoons custard powder vanilla or any flavor
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt optional
- Optional toppings: chopped fruits banana, mango, berries, nuts, whipped cream, chocolate chips
Instructions
Step 1: Mix Custard Powder with Cold Milk
- In a bowl, mix 3 tablespoons custard powder with ½ cup cold milk (from total).
- Whisk to make a lump-free slurry.
Step 2: Heat the Remaining Milk with Sugar
- Heat remaining 1½ cups of milk in a heavy saucepan.
- Add 4 tablespoons sugar and stir on medium heat until dissolved.
- Optional: add pinch of salt.
Step 3: Add the Custard Slurry
- Lower heat.
- Slowly pour in custard slurry while stirring continuously.
- Cook on low heat for 5–7 minutes until thickened and coats the spoon.
Step 4: Add Vanilla and Cool It Down
- Turn off heat.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- Let it cool for 5–10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent skin.
Step 5: Pour and Chill
- Pour into bowls or molds.
- Optional: strain for smooth texture.
- Cover and refrigerate for 2–3 hours, or overnight for unmolding.
Notes
You only have to use custard powder and milk. So, even if you are short on time or skipping eggs, it’s perfect for guests, celebrations, or a quick sweet bite at home.
