Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana with brown spots for natural sweetness
  • ½ cup frozen blueberries for color and chill
  • ¼ medium avocado for creamy texture
  • 1 tbsp almond butter or nut butter of choice
  • ¾ cup unsweetened almond milk or oat milk for extra creaminess
  • 1 tsp cocoa powder optional, for depth
  • 1–2 pitted dates for natural sweetness
  • 1 tsp chia seeds or flaxseed
  • 1 handful baby spinach for nutrients, subtle taste
  • Pinch of sea salt enhances all flavors
  • Ice cubes optional, if using fresh fruit

Instructions

Add Liquids First:

  • Pour almond milk into the blender — this helps blend smoothly.

Add Base Fruits:

  • Add banana, avocado, and dates.
  • These make the smoothie creamy and sweet.

Add Remaining Ingredients:

  • Add blueberries, spinach, nut butter, cocoa powder, chia seeds, and a pinch of salt.

Blend Until Smooth:

  • Blend for 40–60 seconds until thick, creamy, and fully combined.

Adjust Texture:

  • If too thick, add a splash of milk.
  • If too thin, add ice or frozen banana chunks.

Serve Immediately:

  • Pour into a glass and top with chia seeds, cocoa powder, or granola if desired.

Notes

  • Use frozen fruit for creamy, ice-free texture.
  • Don’t skip avocado — it gives that signature smooth, earthy feel.
