Ingredients
1
can soda
12 oz — Dr Pepper, Sprite, Coke, Root Beer, or Mountain Dew
3–4
tbsp
Coffee Mate creamer
French Vanilla, Sweet Cream, Brown Butter, Coconut Creme, etc.
1–2
tbsp
flavored syrup
optional: vanilla, raspberry, coconut, strawberry, blue raspberry
Crushed ice
recommended
1
slice
lime
optional; squeeze for brightness
1
tbsp
heavy cream or half-and-half
optional for thicker texture
Instructions
Fill glass with crushed ice:
Crushed ice gives that “Swig-style” soft texture.
Pour soda over ice:
Pour slowly so the fizz stays strong and doesn’t overflow when creamer is added.
Add Coffee Mate creamer:
Start with 3 tbsp to prevent aggressive fizzing.
Mix gently:
Swirl or lightly stir to keep carbonation intact.
Add syrup (optional):
Raspberry, vanilla, coconut, or strawberry adds fruity or dessert-style notes.
Add a squeeze of lime (optional):
Gives a refreshing, bright dirty soda twist.
Taste and adjust:
More creamer for creaminess, more syrup for sweetness.
Notes
Use crushed ice for the best texture and that classic Swig-style mouthfeel.
Pour creamer in slowly — starting with 3 tablespoons prevents the fizz from overflowing.
Add syrup before the creamer for better flavor distribution throughout the drink.
Avoid fat-free creamers: they separate with carbonation. Full-fat or medium-fat Coffee Mate blends smoothly.
Keep both soda and creamer fully chilled — warm soda plus warm creamer causes curdling.
Serve immediately. The fizz and creaminess are best within 5 minutes of making it.
