Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup unsalted butter browned
  • 2 cups whole milk or almond/oat/half-and-half
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup brown sugar light or dark
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt optional, enhances sweetness

Optional add-ins:

  • 1 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg spiced version
  • Mini chocolate chips or chocolate syrup chocolate chip cookie version

Instructions
 

Brown the Butter:

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt ½ cup unsalted butter.
  • Stir continuously as it foams, then bubbles, and finally develops golden brown specks.
  • Remove from heat immediately to prevent burning.

Add Brown Sugar:

  • Stir in ½ cup brown sugar while butter is still hot.
  • It will melt and create a caramel-like base.

Mix in Milk and Cream:

  • Add 2 cups whole milk and 1 cup heavy cream.
  • Return to medium heat, whisk gently, and warm through without boiling.

Flavor It:

  • Stir in 1 tablespoon vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  • Adjust sweetness with more brown sugar or maple syrup if desired.

Strain & Store:

  • For smooth texture, strain through a sieve into a glass jar.
  • Let it cool, then refrigerate in a sealed container.
  • Shake before each use.

Notes

You can add chocolate chips for a cookie version, cinnamon for a spiced creamer, almond extract for nuttiness, or bourbon extract for a smoky note.
