  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract optional
  • Optional Add-Ins

Pinch of salt

  • 1 tbsp peanut butter or almond butter
  • ¼ cup mini marshmallows or raisins
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts or seeds almonds, walnuts, pistachios, etc.

Instructions

Prep Your Tray

  • Line a baking tray with parchment or wax paper. You can also use mini cupcake liners if serving to guests.

Make the Chocolate Mixture

  • In a saucepan, combine:
  • ½ cup butter
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup milk
  • Heat on medium, stirring until smooth and glossy. Remove from heat, stir in 1 tsp vanilla and optional pinch of salt. Add 1 tbsp peanut butter if using and mix until fully melted.

Add Cornflakes

  • Pour chocolate mixture over 3 cups of cornflakes in a large bowl. Gently fold with a spatula to coat evenly. Don’t crush them.

Scoop and Shape

  • Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto your tray. Shape loosely. Add toppings like marshmallows, sprinkles, or sea salt now if desired.

Chill to Set

  • Refrigerate for 30–60 minutes or until firm. Peel and store in an airtight container.

Notes

Let the chocolate cool a little before mixing in the cornflakes — that way, they won’t get soggy and stay perfectly crunchy.
