- 1 cup whole milk or almond/oat for dairy-free
- 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half for lighter texture
- ½ cup cherries fresh or frozen, pitted & chopped
- 3–4 tbsp sugar or honey/maple/stevia
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt optional
For optional syrup:
- 2 tbsp water + 2 tbsp sugar to cook cherries into a thicker syrup
Cook Cherries
Add chopped cherries, 2 tbsp sugar, and 2 tbsp water to a saucepan.
Heat on medium for 7 minutes until soft and juicy.
Mash lightly with a spoon.
Warm the Base
In another saucepan, heat 1 cup milk + 1 cup cream on low.
Do not boil, just warm. Add a pinch of salt.
Swap sugar for maple syrup, stevia, or monk fruit.
Oat milk + coconut cream = vegan version.
