Iced White Chocolate Mocha with Strawberry Cold Foam Recipe

Sometimes, when you crave coffee but don’t want something bitter or too strong, then you should try something sweet, creamy iced coffee, cold, and smooth. Like the iced white chocolate mocha with strawberry cold foam.

It’s kinda like a café-style dessert drink that we commonly get in a café. You can also find this one at Starbucks or Dunkin.

It’s not exactly the same, but it’s very similar to it.

However, making this drink at home is easy, and it is also better. You can customize it by adjusting sweetness, strawberry cold form, etc.

Here, I will tell you how I make it step by step at home with ingredients that probably would be available in your kitchen or nearby store.

Plus, you don’t need to have fancy equipment like a frother or espresso machine.

I will tell you how I do it without it. And the drink still becomes cafe-like.

Why You’ll Love This Iced White Chocolate Mocha with Strawberry Cold Foam

You know how some drinks make us feel luxurious, refreshing iced coffee drinks? This is that drink.

Here’s why I personally like it more than the regular iced mocha, Starbucks iced mocha, or vanilla sweet cold brew:

  • You will get a creamy white chocolate iced coffee flavor that’s not bitter like regular chocolate. So that’s the first difference.
  • The strawberry cold foam topping will add a fruity burst on top; it looks beautiful and tastes even better.
  • This drink is cold but cozy. Sweet but still balanced.
  • You can make it dairy-free, sugar-free, low-calorie, or even extra dessert-style with toppings.

So, If you like to drink iced coffee as a treat, I’m sure you’re gonna love this drink.

Ingredients You’ll Need

I’m splitting the ingredients into two parts so that you can easily understand:

  1. For the iced white chocolate mocha base
  2. For the strawberry cold foam

For the Iced White Chocolate Mocha:

This is the first thing you’d want to bring on your kitchen slab.

  • 2 shots espresso (or ½ cup strong brewed coffee, especially when you don’t have an espresso machine)
  • ¾ cup milk: I used whole milk for ice white chocolate mocha, but if you’re a vegan or want a dairy-free version, you can use almond, oat, or soy milk.
  • 3 tablespoons high-quality white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate bar: Brands that I personally recommend because of their high-quality chocolates: Ghirardelli White Chocolate Baking Chips, Callebaut White Chocolate Block, or Lindt Classic White.
  • 1–2 teaspoons sugar or sweetener: It’s optional depending on how sweet your chocolate is, or you can even use stevia leaves or honey.
  • Handful of ice cubes

For the Strawberry Cold Foam:

This will be used on the top of the drink:

  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons milk: I use 2% cow milk, but you can use anything, even oat milk, if you want dairy-free foam.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla syrup or plain sugar: This is for sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon strawberry purée: It is too easy; you can make it at home. You want to take fresh strawberries and sugar or use store-bought like Smucker’s or Monin Strawberry Purée.

Optional Toppings (But I Use Them Always)

They will enhance your iced white chocolate mocha with strawberry cold drinks.

  • White chocolate shavings or curls
  • Drizzle of strawberry syrup or sauce
  • Freeze-dried strawberry crumbs on top (though it is optional, but it makes your drink look kinda café-style). You can try it when serving guests.

How to Make Iced White Chocolate Mocha with Strawberry Cold Foam (Step-by-Step)

This is my own style, how I make for myself:

Step 1: Melt the White Chocolate

You have to take a small saucepan and then add 3 tablespoons of white chocolate chips and 1 or 2 tablespoons of milk.

After that, put it over low heat and keep stirring it until the chocolate is completely melted; it should start looking like creamy sauce.

You don’t want to boil it; just melt it gently.

Besides this, you can also melt the chocolate in the microwave in 20-second bursts, but make sure to stir it in between.

Once melted, remove from heat and set aside for later.

Step 2: Brew the Coffee or Espresso

If you have an espresso machine, go for 2 shots.

If not, then you need to brew ½ cup strong coffee using a French press, Moka pot, AeroPress, or even instant coffee in double strength.

Tip: If you want extra flavor, you should add ½ tsp instant espresso powder to the white chocolate mix, especially when you’re using drip coffee instead of espresso.

Step 3: Mix the Mocha Base

Now, you wanna take a cup or shaker and add the espresso or coffee.

Then pour in the melted white chocolate sauce and ¾ cup of milk (any milk you like).

Add ice and give it a nice shake (if you’re using a shaker), or just stir well in a tall glass.

At this stage, you have your iced white chocolate mocha base ready.

Step 4: Make the Strawberry Cold Foam

Take a small bowl or a frothing jug.

Add the following ingredients:

  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla syrup or sugar
  • 1 tablespoon strawberry purée

Now froth it using any of these tools:

  • Milk frother: It is the best option
  • French press: You should pump it 10 to 15 times
  • Handheld electric whisk
  • Regular whisk: It will take more time but still works

You need to froth until the mix becomes thick, pillowy, and soft-peak creamy (like a fluffy topping, not stiff whipped cream).

And make sure it’s still pourable; it shouldn’t be too thick.

If your purée becomes too thick, you can add 1 tsp milk and mix again.

Step 5: Assemble the Drink

Take your prepared mocha glass with ice.

And then, slowly pour the strawberry cold foam over the top. You can use a spoon to layer it.

It will float on top of your mocha drink like a beautiful pink cloud.

Now, if you want to be extra (like me):

  • Add white chocolate shavings on iced mocha to the foam
  • You can drizzle some strawberry syrup topping
  • You can also Sprinkle crushed freeze-dried strawberries for café-style iced coffee

Ingredient Substitutes & Customizations

This Homemade Iced White Chocolate Mocha with Strawberry and Cold Foam Recipe is very flexible.

You can adjust ingredients based on your diet or cravings. Here are a few options that you can try:

Dairy-Free Version for iced white chocolate mocha:

  • Consider using oat milk or almond milk for mocha
  • Use coconut cream, or dairy-free whipped topping with almond milk for strawberry cold foam
  • Make sure your white chocolate is dairy-free (you can use Enjoy Life White Chips)

Sugar-Free / Low-Cal:

If you don’t want to include sugar and want a calories drink, here is what you can do:

No Strawberries? Try These Foam Flavors:

Here are a few alternatives in case strawberries aren’t available as of now:

  • Raspberry Cold Foam: You have to blend raspberry purée instead of strawberry.
  • Chocolate Cold Foam: Add cocoa powder and sweetener.
  • Caramel Cold Foam: consider adding a dash of caramel syrup
  • Matcha Cold Foam: just add ½ tsp matcha powder.

Extra Protein Version:

If you want to drink this iced white chocolate mocha with strawberry cold foam after a workout or to complete your daily protein intake. Then, you need to add these things:

  • You can add ½ scoop vanilla or white chocolate protein powder to the milk
  • Or use Fairlife milk for more protein
  • Add collagen peptides to the cold foam (they’re unflavored and dissolve easily)

If you use these ingredients, your recipe will be higher in protein than the regular one.

Pro Tips to Make It Just Like a Coffee Shop

Many times, when we drink coffee and beverages at a café or restaurant, we find it better than our homemade recipe.

So, here is what you need to follow:

  1. Use chilled coffee or espresso if possible so it won’t melt the ice too quickly, and you can enjoy the drink longer.
  2. Don’t skip the melted white chocolate: it will give richness that syrups can’t.
  3. Use whole milk or oat milk: it’s excellent to achieve a thick, creamy texture like Starbucks.
  4. If you enjoy experimenting with coffeehouse flavors, you may also love this Dunkin Toasted White Chocolate Latte.
  5. If serving guests: You should prep cold foam in advance and refrigerate it for 30 minutes, as it holds better.
  6. You should drizzle the strawberry drizzle sauce inside the glass before pouring the mocha; it will look beautiful as we get into the café.
