If you are obsessed with caramel the way I am, then this Torani Caramel Sauce Recipe will become one of those things you’ll keep making again and again. 

It will give smooth, buttery, golden sweetness that you can pour on any dessert or coffee. And it will taste like you bought it from a fancy cafe. 

I’ve tried store-bought sauces, like Ghirardelli Caramel Sauce, Monin Caramel Sauce, and even Torani’s bottled version, but when I made it at home, it was better.

Torani Caramel Sauce means a smooth, rich, golden caramel sauce that tastes just like the bottled Torani caramel but is homemade. 

It’s a sauce made from melting sugar until golden, then adding butter and cream to create that creamy caramel sauce texture you can drizzle over coffee, desserts, pancakes, or ice cream.

Ingredients:

Here’s the base list I use to create a Torani-style Caramel Sauce at home. It’s inspired by the flavor profile of the bottled Torani sauce, but fresher.

  • Sugar: White granulated sugar works best. If you want a deeper flavor, you can try light brown sugar.
  • Butter: Unsalted butter so you can control salt.
  • Heavy Cream: This will give your sauce a velvety, creamy texture. Besides this, you can also swap with milk, condensed milk, or non-dairy alternatives, especially when you want a caramel sauce without cream.
  • Vanilla Extract: You will need just a dash to enhance the sweetness.
  • Pinch of Salt: You can’t skip that; it is important to balance flavor.

Optional (for variations):

  • Consider using a sugar-free sweetener if you want the Torani Caramel Sauce Sugar Free recipe.
  • If you’re vegan or vegetarian, use coconut cream

Instructions:

Ingredients that I have mentioned are for around 1 cup of sauce, enough for drizzling over drinks and desserts for the week. 

But you can also double the Ingredient quantity, depending on how often you want to use this Torani caramel sauce:

Step 1: Melt the Sugar

You want to take a heavy-bottom saucepan. 

And add 1 cup of granulated sugar to it. 

Heat it over medium flame, and keep stirring slowly with a heatproof spatula. 

By doing so, the sugar will clump, then slowly melt into a golden liquid. 

Be patient — don’t rush, because it can burn easily.

Step 2: Add the Butter

Once the sugar is fully melted and golden, you need to add 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter. 

It will bubble vigorously. 

You want to stir it continuously to melt the butter completely.

Now pour in ½ cup heavy cream. 

Again, it will bubble up, so be careful.

Yes, you can actually make it with just sugar + butter. Melt sugar, then whisk in butter. 

It won’t be as smooth as the cream version, but it’s still delicious for quick drizzles.

3 Ingredient Caramel Sauce

Want a middle ground? Try sugar + butter + milk. It’s lighter, and great if you want something fast without heavy cream.

Old-Fashioned Caramel Sauce Recipe

The classic way is literally sugar melted with butter and a splash of water. No cream, no vanilla, just pure caramel richness. 

This is perfect for topping apple pies or bread puddings.

Torani Caramel Sauce Sugar Free

If you want a sugar-free version, you can replace the sugar with erythritol or monk fruit sweetener. 

Use the same method, but be aware that the texture will be a little different — less sticky, more glossy. 

However, it still works beautifully in iced coffees.
