Welcome to Cook for Foodies — a space where cravings, creativity, and comfort food come together in one delicious kitchen.
My name is Abraham, and I’m the creator behind this blog — a passionate foodie, self-taught home cook, and someone who loves experimenting with recipes that are different, bold, and sometimes a little unexpected.
Why I Started Cook for Foodies
The first reason? I’m a foodie — with a big appetite.
Being an ectomorph, I naturally need around 2,000 to 2,500+ calories per day to maintain my weight. That means I get to eat more than most people — and I love every bite of it.
Beyond eating, I love exploring food in a way most people don’t — trying new combinations, putting my own twist on classics, and creating something others may never have tasted before.
I believe everyone — man or woman — should know how to cook. My mom still cooks most of our meals, but I felt it was important to learn for myself. Because sometimes she’s unwell, or out of town. And I want to be able to cook something special for her and for guests.
Another reason I started Cook for Foodies is personal: I didn’t have many people to share my recipes with. So I thought — why not start a blog? When I make something new, I test it, tweak it, taste it again… and once I know it’s good, I share it here.
My Cooking Journey
I started cooking back in 2018, but became more serious during the 2019 pandemic.
Like many others, I was stuck at home — so I decided to learn new skills: cooking, gardening, and sketching. That’s when I truly fell in love with the kitchen.
Since then, I’ve become a confident, self-taught home cook. Not a professional chef — but someone who can cook something comforting, delicious, and thoughtful for myself, my family, and hopefully for you.
Every recipe on this blog has been personally tested by me. Sometimes my mom steps in to help — especially when I’m trying something tricky and need her years of experience with measurements and technique.
Some recipes also come from family traditions — dishes my mother, grandmother, and brother have made and shared with me over the years. These are recipes we’ve actually cooked and eaten together, and I publish them only after verifying they taste exactly right.
